Tourist Visa

Recommended Posts

It is quite easy to obtain an extra 30 days on that 60 day tourist visa. Just fill out a form TM.7 before your 60 day stay is over and pay 1,900 baht, attach 4x6 cm photo and wait a few minutes or so at an immigration office inside Thailand.

If by the time your 60 days visa expires you're close to the burmese border posts (Mae sai - in Chiang Rai, Mae sod - close to Sukhothai, or Ranong in the south) it can be done real cheaply. You just cross to Myanmar, pay about 400 baht, cross right back and you've got another month.

If you're close to Malaysia it's free in and out.

If you want to cross to Laos or Kambodia you'll have to obtain a more expensive visa.
