Buddha Statue

We live in Australia, an I bought the wife a large golden Buddha statue for Xmas

It would be nice to have it blessed but here lies the problem

I was under the understanding that we needed to take it to the local Wat and have the Monks bless it

But she says her girlfriend can do it in her back yard

Is the someone who has a wife or friend who can shed some light on this

If your wife says her friend can do it and she is satisfied with that solution then go the easy route.
