I have 2 x 60 day visas...

the first of which expires on 31 Jan 09

Do i have to leave the country to activate my second visa....

or , is it possible to have it stamped at an immigration office or visa centre.

My partner and i are loathe to fly elsewhere and would rather stay....Please advise.

You probably have a 2x Entry.A few days before 31 Jan go to Immigration and get a 30 day extension 1,900 Baht. On the last day of that 30 or the day before you must leave Thailand and come back again to activate the second entry.

First you can extend your current stay for 30 days at any immigration office for 1900 baht.

After that 30 you have to leave the country to use the 2nd entry.

That can be done in the same day at all border crossings or you can fly to a nearby country.

WARNING Will Robinson !!!!!

Yes ^^^^

BUT

You MUST, that's MUST, activate your second entry by doing a border hop BEFORE (not on) the 'Must enter before' date stamped on your VISA itself. This may mean doing a border run just before your 30 day extension expires due to the short validity period being given by some consulates.
