I am trying to make a natural skin conditioner for my own use as the ones in the stores are actually bad for you. Where can I buy a few hundred grams of pure beeswax, and a small bottle/jar of cocoa butter in Bangkok?

Sorbolene Cream with 10% Glycerene is about as natural as you can get. You can then mix in whatever you want to it to make your own personal moisturizer.

For example you can include: Aloe Vera, Jojoba oil, Wheatgerm oil, Avacado oil, Almond oil or maybe distilled water can be added in very small quantities.

Thanks MM, I will post the results of how good or bad it turns out. I have a recipe for making natural conditioning oil from a friend in the US and I want to see for myself if a natural conditioner is any better than the ones in the stores. I will post on how I made it after the results are in.

Moisturizers are designed to keep some moisture on the surface of the skin and to prevent your skin from drying out. No moisturizer penetrates deep under the layers of the skin despite what all the expensive wrinkle cream manufacturers state in their advertising propaganda...with perhaps the exception of Retinol. (the jury is still out)

Sorbolene cream alone will provide a moisturizing cover for your skins surfaces. It is great for the face and for the body. Adding various oils can make it somewhat greasy, particularly for the face but the excess can be blotted off after about 20 minutes. If you research (Google) some of the oils I suggested, you will learn of the benefits they can add to your daily moisturizing routine....and the cost is nothing compared to what you will pay for a big brand name face creams.

Use the oils sparingly. A few drops is all that is required.

You can also add some sun block cream into the mix.

Hmmm...the original poster was looking for a natural solution rather than most of the chemical, alcohol and paraben loaded creams we see everywhere and gets a recommendation for a cream that contains; "Cetaeryl Alcohol, Mineral Oil, Ceteth 20, Polysorbate 60, Paraffin, benzyl Alcohol, methyl Paraben, Propyl Paraben" - Yummy! :o

If natural is the target then I agree with Mighty Mouse to use 100% natural cold pressed oils such as coconut oil Etc.

Cheers!

As priopr poster has noted, moisturizers work by sealing in natural skin oils and water.

The most effective of all is simple petroleum jelly, which will not let any moisture esacpe or evaporate, and is very cheap.

On the face though, precisely because it does do such a good job of sealing in all the natural skin secretions, it may result in clogged pores. But great everywhere else if you don't mind a bit of grease on the bedsheets/nightclothes.

I don't think I am going to touch that one, Sheryl :o

Don't like the idea of petroleum jelly on my face tbh, and using straight oil? Seems, well, greasy as well. :D

Whats wrong with cocoa butter?
