Bangkok Black Cat
Ko Surin off the west coast of Thailand is somewhere I often go. It's basically a national park with most people sleeping in tents. Around 1,000 people there this time last year. Anyone got any news on there? Thanks. Popcorn_bkk
Has anyone heard anything from Mu Ko Surin yet? Alot of the most popular beaches are in bays and coves facing in a westerly direction with most accomodation at beach level...
Popcorn_bkk
Managed to find this link to a CNN eye-witness report from Ko Surin. Looks like they got away with it relatively lightly although a lot of damage to the accomodation areas. http://edition.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/asiapcf/...urin.eyewitness

Unfortunately, most of the Morkan stay on Ko Surin Tai (South) island and would have been unable to give any warning to Ko Surin Neau (North) across the water. http://edition.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/asiapcf/...s.ap/index.html
