Consecutive Tourist Visas

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I know there's been a few changes regarding visa regulations lately. I heard about the entry stamps being reduced from 30 days to 15 days and that there's been a few changes regarding the business visas.

I've been here for almost 6 months now.

I entered on a non-imm. type "O" visa (3 months) then I did a border run (30 days) than I got a tourist visa from Penang (60 days) which I will be extending for 30 more days.

After that, do I then just do another visa run and get a new tourist visa?

I hope they haven't placed any new restrictions on back to back tourist visas..

Is their any limit to how often I can do this?

Also, since I went to Penang for the first tourist visa, should I go to a new consulate for the next one or does it even matter?

Thanks in advance,

Bill

There are no blanket restrictions on back to back Tourist Visas,

but some regional consulates may have their own local rules.

Best to tell us where you plan to apply and we can advise.

Thanks for the advice guys, this forum is VERY helpful.

My return ticket is for May 9th. My current tourist visa expires on Monday and I'll be paying 1900 baht for the 30 day extension. That should take me to Feb. 19th, at which point I'm planning on just getting another 60 day tourist visa and extending it for another month after that..

Have you ever heard of someone being denied the 30 day extension?

Also, I read that some consulates are more strict than others. In your experiences, where would you recommend I go for my next tourist visa? I've already been to Penang..

Thanks again,

Bill

You will get the 30 day extension no problem.

Apply for a Tourist Visa somewhere that is coveniant to you. Don't worry.
