My neighbour was bitten by a bat that entered her home last night when she tried to rescue it. She let the bat go, so no animal to test for rabies. This morning she called me and told me the experience.

My thoughts are that most bats here in Thailand are fruit eating {?} and maybe less prone to rabies, but I'm not a doctor or a biologist.

Advise or experiences from anyone would be appreciated ASAP....as according to google, she should get treatment soon to be effective.

Thanks in advance.......

She should go right away to the hospital to get a preventive treatment.

There is no cure for rabies once symptoms begin to show. It may looks weird in the 21th century that such a common illness has no treatment, but once symptoms begin to show, it’s too late !
