Medical Testing

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone.

I know this is probably covered within some other thread.

Can anyone recommend a hospital or clinic that is reliable and not too expensive to do these tests.

Blood, Diabetes and cancer. Urine, cancer.

I want to double check results of tests I had in the uk.

Many Thanks.

Pretty much any hospital can do the tests accurately. Where they vary is in how meaningful the review/analysis of the results is. However if this is just for follow up of a check up recently done back home that may not matter so much.

Another limitation in Thailand is that you don't get much if any guidance as to what tests to have. The hospitals have a range of "packages"plus additional add-ons but patients are pretty much left to their own devices in deciding which to have. If you already know what you need, no problem, otherwise do some advance research.

Thanks veru much Sheryl,

UK tests have found cancer cells in urine and my GP suggested I may have diabetes because I am taking a long time to heal.

Other than that I feel normally healthy.

I had internal checks in uk and found nothing. They did manage to make such a mess of it that I spent a week in hospital and had to have a stent installed for 10 days.

I'm a little confused between the statement that you has malignant cells in urine and that test showed nothing...and also confused as to the "may"have diabetes, either you do or you don't and this is not so hard to determine. Maybe he meant you are borderline or heading in that direction? What was your fasting blood sugar? Anf what type of stents were put in and for what condition?

Both issues need to be put to rest definitively. I would siggest you get all of your records from the UK and take them to one of the urologists recommended in the pinned notice above. While at it ask him to recheck a fasting blood sugar if you are uinsure what yours is (you will obviously need to have had nothing to eat for at least 8 hours before the test is done).

Good luck

Thanks Sheryl. The urine and bloodissues are completely seperate, sorry I did not makeclear.

I will have a blood suger test done and take from there.

Think I will need internal examination after cells found in urine.

Many Thanks again.
