January 27, 200917 yr I am leaving tomorrow night to Laos for an exit with my daughter's tourist visa. I am just wondering if I could get a re-entry permit as I have a 1 year extension in Udon Thani or Nong khai or do i have to get in bangkok or Chiang mai? Please! I need answers as we are leaving tomorrow as her passport expires on thursday. Thank you!
January 27, 200917 yr Nong Kai You can do it on the way to the bridge from Udon. The office is on the right side when coming into town from Udon.

Edit: I merged you topics and deleted one.
January 27, 200917 yr You are going to make a border with your your daughter to activate a another entry on a tourist visa? How old is your daugther? For children there is no overstay fine. Not only at the Laos border might she have aproblem, but also at the Thai border re-entering Thailand. Thailand requires a passport that is at least 6 month valid when entering. Might be wiser to apply for a new passport for your daugther first. Edited January 27, 200917 yr by Mario2008
January 27, 200917 yr Author Thanks for the reply. Shes 3 years old. I know they dont have any fine for overstay but I want that her stay here would be legal as we are planning to go to US. So, we go to Laos on thursday and thought of staying there till saturday for a break as well as its week-end. What do you mean atleast 6 months?
January 27, 200917 yr Author Opppsss I am sorry, her passport is still fine but her tourist visa expires on thursday. sorry my message wasnt that clear enough.. Thanks
January 27, 200917 yr I was hoping that you meant visa instead of passport. You could get her a one year extension at immigration as your dependent if you have an extension. Instead of dealing with tourist visas. All you need is her birth certificate showing you as her father. While you are In Vientiane why don't you go to the Thai consulate and get here a non-o visa as your dependent. That would make it easy to get her the 1 year extension at immigration.
January 28, 200917 yr Author Oh thanks for that information. Do i need to have her birth certificate translated? They said, i need a letter from school.
January 28, 200917 yr Oh thanks for that information. Do i need to have her birth certificate translated? They said, i need a letter from school. See 2.20 of this police order for requirements: police_order_2008.pdf I am not sure about the translation for immigration you would need to check with them. The letter is not required for this tyoe of extension. To get the non-o at the consulate you should not need a translation.
