"The Revoltionary King" by William Stevenson, also author of "A Man Called Intrepid" and others, describes a remarkable life, written with the King's permission.(according to the author, also shows pictures of him with the King etc.)

Published by Constable and Co. London, 1999

A Must Read! Historically very good and informative about Royal family.

I think that you'll find that the work is not authorized by the Crown. It started out with His Majesty's cooperation, but the author went outside the agreed terms of reference. The book certainly wasn't originally on sale in Thailand, and I doubt that the position has changed.

Its not a very good book at all. Often weak on several key points especially on how he tries to make out the Plaek Pibulsonghram / Pridi Phanomyong conspiracies are all his own discovery.

At the end of the day it doesn't really go anywhere and the only value it has is in approaching certain topics considered taboo in Thailand.
