India's $10 laptop sort of official, and may cost $100

The government of India has unveiled a new low-cost laptop that is designed for education. Government officials say that the laptop will be sold for $10 per unit... or maybe $100.

Not directly Thailand related, but if it's not vapourware it will spread like the proverbial wildfire.

India's Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) curiously cited concerns about "physical and psychological effects" of computer exposure as the reason why the government turned down the opportunity to participate in an OLPC pilot program.

Yup, just like the car engine that uses no fuel, invented in Delhi, actually it's a French invention and runs on compressed air.
