Overstay

Featured Replies

Hi Fellas, I've a 1 year overstay from a 30 day tourist visa. Opps. I need to leave the country now and get it sorted out. Is the 20,000 Baht fine at the airport/border still the case? or is it more these days?

I was thinking of going to KL to get a new clean passport so I have no problems when I return. Anyone have any experience with this.

I was going to use an agent but it sounds a bit dodgy these days.

Cheers

Sinbad,

20,000 is the fine, go as soon as possible. 20,000 at the airport is ok, any situation where you have to show your passport before you do that and you are bolloxed. Like,

Pissed up motorcycle taxi driver crashes into you, his passenger falls off gets injured, his bike then skids into a noodle stall causing damage etc etc, his fault cos he is drunk? Nope, With no visa all that becomes your fault, if you was not there he would not have hit you, and you should not have been there.

Happened to someone a few years back in Pattaya.

Cheers

Cheers, I'd like definate confirmation off the main man George. Also do I need a new passport or will I be OK comimg back in again with the old one which is still valid?

Thanks again.

Sinbad.

The 20,000 baht fine will be in your passport as you say, personally with the climate as it is, i might change my passport if it was me.

Cheers
