Job Description Managing Director

We are an international market leading engineering business that specializes in the manufacture and engineering of machines and systems to automate industrial production processes. The headquarter is located in Germany, whereas subsidiaries are operating all over the world. With customers in a wide range of industrial companies, like food, pharmaceuticals, chemicals or plastics, the Thai subsidiary has a turnover of around 200 million THB and employs 15 people within Thailand. Thailand is hub of Asia, with an office in Jakarta reporting to Thailand. We are now looking to appoint a new Managing Director.

Reporting to the Group Chairman, in this senior role you will have responsibility for the sales, purchasing and engineering divisions at the site, and you will be accountable for all day-to-day operations in the company. You’ll be responsible for the financial situation of the company as well as for the future growth.

The key elements of this position are ensuring that the operation meets the sales plan. Carving and realizing strategies in order to meet the company goals. It is essential that you have the drive to improve the efficiency of sales operations, and an entrepreneurial approach to business.

To be considered for this position you must have experience of running a division in an engineering company as well as significant exposure to sales or customer service. It is also important to have a keen interest in applying modern manufacturing techniques, and an eye for new product opportunities.

As the Managing Director you should also have a proven track record of improving performance in an industrial environment achieved through motivation and development of personnel at all levels. Excellent communication skills allied with the implementation of continuous improvement manufacturing are also essential to this role. The ability of speaking German or Thai would be of clear advantage. Furthermore should you know the different Asian cultures and are willed to travel.

Ideally you will be qualified in an engineering discipline to HND or degree level (or equivalent) and have considerable experience within an engineering environment.
