Whilst wandering down a barely used road, bordering Khao yai Park, My wife and I stumbled into the back entrance of a park Ranger Station. sheepishly driving through, looking for the front door, we passed about 3 rai of garden center. Potted plants of all descriptions, under green canopy. We stopped to ask if these plants were for sale......"no, they're free."...FREE???.....yes....if you live within a 10 kilometre radius. Ermm..how many can we have?....They filled the truck up. Anything we wanted. Palms, Teak, Macca, lillies, bougainvillea, and so on. not a satang was asked, or even hinted at.

Whilst there I noticed 2 scruffy dragontree plants, gathering dust. The next week we returned to donate 20 dragontree plants that had been gathering weeds in our garden.

A party nearly broke out. Despite our protestations, we came away with another load of pots.

Apparently, all Ranger Stations offer the same service, and there are lots of them around the national parks in Thailand. TIT. I love it. Mostly. :o
