NHSO to inject 1 billion baht budget to improve health centres nationwide

The National Health Security Office (NHSO) has been prepared to inject more than one billion baht budget to enhance efficiency of local health centres nationwide to be the first station to serve people's healthcare service. The body would also arrange the "Community Health & Primary Care Expo 2009" to exhibit innovation in community health centres for the next decade.

Dr. Winai Sawatdiworn (วินัย สวัสดิวร), NHSO secretary-general, said today (February 16) that his office has set aside budget amounting to over one billion baht to improve local community health centres nationwide which would have efficient doctors and nurses to tender care for people as home doctors. It would be the first centre to stop diseases. The centres would help shouldering large hospitals' works.

Meanwhile, NHSO has coordinated with the Ministry of Public Health, the Health Systems Research Institute and the Socity and Health Institute, alto be prepared to organize the "Community Health & Primary Care Expo 2009", the innovation to improve health care services in local communities for the next decade during February 18 and 20 at Impac, Mueng Thong Thani.
