Hi,

Air Asia has changed my flight time by 30mins later than before. I already know I don't want to take that flight so would have had to cancel and lose all my money. However, after beinjg advised of this I'm thinking as they've changed the flight details can I ask for a full refund of my flight?

Has anyone else experienced this with Air Asia or another airline? If so what's the norm?

I checked Air Asia's T&C's but couldn't see anything that covers this.

I hope this isn't a duplicated thread, I did do a search and couldn't see anything.

As always, thanks again

You can ask, but you'll only get one at Air Asia's discretion. 30 minutes is nothing and I'm intrigued as to why you'd have to cancel a flight for the sake of 30 minutes. What if they hadn't changed the flight time, but the flight was subject to a 30 minute delay; would you decline to board the aircraft?

I don't need it now but was wondering if it would be my get out of jail free, as otherwise I will lose my money! I'll call them and report back

:o Not for a 30 minute delay.

However with a full-fare carrier, and a delay or schedule change that was due to no fault of your own, you might be able to get a credit for a future flight. I've done someday similar before. The airline policies are stricter now, however.

A lo of people go for the discount fares, and discount airlines, but a full-fare ticket with a major carrier is sometimes worth the extra cost, just because it can be refunded or reused.

Like the bargirls say...Up to you.

According to the Terms and Conditions point 5.8.2 you have no rights to cancel.Under this para 5 they also mention that they can change a booked and paid for seat.

maybe this may help soothen this giant inconvenience for you

my 2 last flights on them, 1 from KUL-a few days ago and 1 from SIN-both arrived 20 mins EARLY at Swampy. However-the SIN flight ws on Thai A and then we had to wait 15 mins before the bus appeared.. The KUL flight had about the closest by gate of all-and I was actualy out of airport even before the official arival time........

so not much may be lost-your o-so inconvenient timeloss may be limited to just 10 mins.

Don't you have travel insurance? This would give you a full refund of the airfare.I sat in the lounge waiting for a Singapore airways flight that was delayed by 12 hours! No word as to why, just lies. The end result, missed meeting points, couldn't contact the people i was supposed to meet, and Singapore airlines so kindly gave us about 3 US dollars in phone cards.....Never flew them again. :D That was the second time,no third. :o
