A friend of mine, US passport holder is coming to Thailand on tourist visa.He wants to apply the college in Thailand and study here. He already applied tourist visa and he wants to buy one way flight ticket. The question is, Can he enter Thailand on tourist visa with one way ticket? Will he gonna have problems at immigration in airport? I am not sure that he needs to show his ticket at immigration or not. He doesn't want to buy round trip ticket because he gonna be studying in Thailand for 4 years.I just want to make sure before he comes. Thank you.

He can travel using a one way ticket. A return or onward ticket is not required with any visa entry.

HI, i hope you guy's are right about this , because it is also my question , because my first triple entry tourist visa i just followed the book and left after 177 days back to Europe to take my new triple entry tourist visa , but this time i wil take out of the 6 month's a 9 month's staying , so it is not difficult for me to arrange ticket for leaving Thailand after 9 months, but the Airport-boys (and Girls) there would see straight my plan to stay longer because of this.

I shurely go back after the 9 month's are finished, because i have still my house in my country and "arranging" my local "administration " there.

So ARE YOU 100% SHURE ??

THX for the patience to read all this, but i do not like to be stranded in front of paradise :o

Open this webpage from Delta and select your country and Thailand click the button and it will take you to a page on a IATA website that will give the same information that the airline has available to them.

Thanks for the reply. I've got another question. Do you need to show bank account info and a certain amount at the airport? That might be a problem for him. I came to Thailand with Non Immi ( ED ) visa and I did'nt have to show my bank account info.. I'm not sure about tourist visa. Thanks.

Airline never. Immigration does not normally ask to see any funds. Perhaps in a rare case where the persons appearence or actions warranted a request. If they did it would not have to be a bank book. It could be a little cash, credit card or an ATM card.

I have never been asked making so many entries that I have lost count.

Thanks for your reply. I guess he should be okay.
