Hello,

I am moving from Koh Samui to Chiang Mai and I have UBC. Can I take the system down from my house here in Samui and then reinstall at the my new place in Chiang Mai?

Do I need to coordinate with the UBC office in either location?

I have moved it from house to house while on Koh Samui with no problems and without telling UBC but not too sure about a move all the way to Chiang Mai.

Thanks in advance.

My experience with True is if you are moving from province to province you will need to co-ordinate with True.

Last year i moved from Pattaya, Chonburi to Banchang, Rayong and I called True and they arranged everything. Called me on the scheduled day for the removal and then based on my schedule the Rayong office called me to come and install the new system. I did have to pay a install fee for the new equipment. I think he install fee was 1000 baht plus a trip charge to Banchang.

In my case I rent the equipment and that equipment belongs to the Pattaya office. So you the customer cannot take it with you to another province. Now I have equipment from the Rayong office and when I move to our new house later this year I can feasibly do the move myself as all I will be doing is moving a few K down the road and not changing areas. Just an address change in the system for billing.

Yes, I should have mentioned that I own the equipment. I bought it instead of renting.

I will check with my Truevision office here on Samui before I leave and see what they say.

This will either be very easy or a complete nightmare.

I would say if you own the equipment then you can do what you want. Take it down and re-install at the new location on your own. Notify True that you have moved so they know where to send the invoices. They will most likely try to talk you into using one of their approved agencies where you live to remove the dish and cable and stuff and then install at the new place but if you're handy you can do it all yourself and save a couple thousand baht.
