Dear All,

Kindly help me for this.

I am using tourist visa and extended in Bkk Immigration office.

1 After spending 90 days for the tourist visa, can I get a few more days to extend in Bkk?

2 Do I have to get out of Thailand and reapply at Thai consulate office?

3 If I get out of Thailand, re-apply and come back, can I get 60 days as usual?

a I have a good friend in Singapore and I also would like to see her for a few days. Is that a good idea to go Singapore, re-apply and come back to Thailand?

b Should I go to Laos and do this ?

c If going to Laos, can you please recommand the good tour bus which can send me till Vientiane. If I go Laos by bus, apply at Thai consulate can get the same 60 days ?

d Going to border can only get 15 days, is that correct ?

Thanking you all.

You can get a 7 day extension at immigration (1900 baht) if you have a ticked out within those 7 days.

You can get another tourist visa that would give you a 60 entry.

In Singapore you can get a single entry tourist visa but you will have to show a ticket leaving Thailand.

If you go to Vientiane you can get a 2 entry tourist visa no ticket needed.

For info on Vientiane visa runs see this 38 page topic. Start at the last page and work your way back a few pages.

You will only get 15 days if you do a border run.

Yes. Crossing a land border will get you 15 days.

Vienteienne Laos will issue Double Entry Tourist Visas. With extensions and a border run in the middle this means almost 6 months.

BTW . I assume you had no problems with your lost TM6 Card.

1) You can pay 1900 now and get another 7 days.

2) You can travel to the Thai Embassy in Laos and get a double TV (1000 baht/entry) and start all over.

3) You can take the night train up (2nd class aircon about 700 baht) -- TukTuk from the train station to the friendship bridge for 30 baht. 15 baht for the ride across the bridge. Laos Visa depends on your nationality (but you can get it the same day in BKK at the Lao Embassy and not have to wait at the bridge for one). Then into Laos--- go str8 to the Thai Embassy and apply for the TV then into town for a guesthouse/hotel. (Last time I did a private car for 300 baht that took me to the embassy and then took me to the hotel)

If I can get only 7 days with 1900 Baht, I should reschedule and arrange for this. Seems like going to Singapore is a bit tougher than Vientiane. And more costly icon8.gif . Thank you very much for all your kind info and response.

Thanks for your info. I had no problems with the lost of TM6 departure card. But Immigration officer asked me when I went there to extend my tourist visa. She just checked in the system and gave another blank card to fill when I go out of Thailand. Thanks for your care icon1.gif

Hi All.

What documents would I need to take to Immigration in order to renew my 60-day tourist visa which is expiring on 10 March? If I go on 5 March, when does the 30-day extension take effect; on that date or on the expiry date of the visa?

Thank you.

Do you mean the permit to stay stamp or the use before date of your visa?

The extension (not renewal of visa) will be from the date of your permit to stay.

You only need a copy of your passport photo page, visa, entry/permit to stay stamps and TM6 departure card. One photo, completed TM 7 application form and 1900 baht.

The stamp says I can stay until 10 March. If I go on 5 March, will the extension take effect on 5 March or 10 March?

The 10th of March which is your permit to stay date.

Correct. You do not lose any days by going a bit early to extend your permition to stay.

Is the Suan Phlu office busy between 2 and 3 pm? How do I get there from Saladaeng BTS or Lumpini MRT?

Whatever they are connected...

When arrive, have a short walk, to the Dusit Thani Hotel (Rama IV side)

Grab a motorbike taxi, and 30 bahts later, you are there.

Regarding timing, I used to go there only in the morning.

Thanks. How long does the tourist visa extension process take?

If there was no one else there, a few minutes. It will probably take a while if busy.

One more question: if I had overstayed by one day, could I still get the 30-day extension or would I have to leave the country and come back?
