i read we need to have at least 21 days left on a 60 day tourist visa, to apply for a retirement visa. if i get an additional 30 day extention, can i apply for that retirement visa, during the 30 day extention period, or only during the initial 60 days? thanks!!

That's a really good question. I can't answer it for sure, but I if I had to guess, I would say, yes with a fair bit of confidence.

You will be doing the TWO STEP process because you don't have a non-immigrant visa.

Step 1: get a non-immigrant O visa IN Thailand (with at least 21 days left on permission to stay)

Step 2: get the one year extension based on retirement
