Visa Woes,had Yours Lately?

We have been waiting 6 months so far for the Canadian Marriage sponsorship visa to be determined.I sponsored my Thai wife, who waits in LOS with little appetite for food these days. The Canadian government is very hard nosed.Unlike the UK and US,we no longer have a fiancee visa, cancelled in 2003 due to abuses no doubt, grrrr. On the other hand, the Canadian government turns a blind eye toward the thousands of massage places here, where prominent people can go undetected having their jollies and extra curricular activities with the sultry, sexy Asian women trapped in their situation as virtual sex slaves, kept in many cases by their Vietnamese gang overseers.I did my homework, and do not speak from a well of ignorance(often).A few selected "massage" places were busted 2 years ago and the Johns went to court, but it was a half-assed effort as most were left untouched. Why foul your own nest? Moreover, this government is the only major western nation that does not have any data at all on numbers of humans being trafficked here mainly for sexual purposes. At least the othe countries have guesstimates. It is an abysmal double standard to be so strict and lax at the same time. Two years ago me and my then gf(before we were married)applied for a visitors visa.It was rejected on the grounds that it was "determined" she would remain in Canada as an illegal refugee and send money home to her destitute family. The facts are her family is well off and needs no support;she was a partner in 2 cell phone places, has a university degree, and would have returned, although you can't proove it.I knew we were in trouble at the BKK Canadian embassy when I saw the "pitbull" thai lady who interviewed her alone.I spoke to a Canadian lawyer from Ottawa at the office later that day,and explained that she did not need to support her family, etc. He excused himself, went to the back, returned and said,"sorry,I read the wrong file in this case, however the case is closed. If you don't like it,complain to your member of parliament back home".The lawyer was so arrogant I almost had trouble containing my well justified anger!I did contact the MLA(James Moore,Conservative)and there was no response of course. Are we now black-listed for other visas because of this F up of a "lawyer"?
