As Ukrainian drones and missiles reach deeper into Russian-controlled territory, some of Moscow’s most vocal supporters are now directing their anger at the military leadership itself. Air Defences Under Pressure According to assessments highlighted by the Institute for the Study of War, Ukrainian strikes are increasingly targeting defence-industrial sites, logistics hubs and military infrastructure deep behind Russian lines. One influential pro-war commentator and former Storm-Z instructor warned that Ukraine is systematically degrading Russian air defence systems and radar networks. He accused officials of allowing bureaucracy and internal rivalries to undermine the country's ability to respond effectively. Logistics Network Starts to Fray The criticism comes as reports emerge of mounting logistical problems in southern Ukraine. The ATESH partisan movement claims Russian troops have begun withdrawing from parts of the Kinburn Spit after supply routes collapsed under sustained Ukrainian pressure. Without reliable deliveries of ammunition, fuel and food, frontline units were allegedly left isolated. Heavy losses and constant drone attacks further weakened their ability to maintain defensive positions. Fuel Shortages Spread Beyond the Battlefield The impact is now being felt away from the front. Reports of fuel restrictions in occupied Crimea have added to concerns that Ukraine’s campaign against supply networks is achieving broader strategic effects. Military bloggers have warned that disrupted fuel deliveries are affecting both civilian life and military operations. The shortages have fuelled growing anxiety among residents and raised fresh questions about Russia’s ability to protect critical infrastructure. Pressure Builds on Moscow’s Top Brass The backlash is increasingly focused on senior commanders, including Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov. Nationalist commentators have criticised military leaders for failing to strike key Ukrainian transport links and for allowing strategic vulnerabilities to persist. At the heart of the debate is a growing fear that Ukraine’s strategy is working. By targeting logistics, fuel supplies and military infrastructure simultaneously, Kyiv is seeking to make Russian positions harder to sustain and more costly to defend.
