Big Bike Crackdown

Featured Replies

Hi everyone.

Last Saturday I went by D Bigbike looking for some spare parts. The showroom was empty. I asked the owner Benz what's up? He told me the authorities are checking registrations etc.

As we all know dealers don't register bikes till they have a buyer. So <deleted> that.

Then about Monday I went to Wit Motorsports; the had the security doors nearly down, they were doing business but with no motorcycles on the forecourt. The owners wife told me "crackdown".

I went along to Porn Superbike where it was business as usual.

Just thought you might like to know.

It's sounds like the same thing that was happening in Pattaya a few weeks ago.

Phuket / Patts / CM / Etc.. Seems countrywide to me and may well work out into what bike dealers there in the provinces.

I would like to state for the record IN BANGKOK they are not going after owners/riders but rather shops selling used bikes (of which there are 100's).

I would say that even tho I may have been raising a stink about it.. Thats pretty much the same here, they have raided shops, and repair places. But when they did raid they simply took everything and then it was up to the owner to come get it.

I have not heard of any roadside checks like this. Tho my radar is out wondering if they see bike week as payday ?!? they busted the 3 nation charity ride last year and made a million or so baht !!
