Outside the downtown area quite a few major intersections have no street names posted; neither do the streets leading to the intersections. Ouch!

Navigate using landmarks like temples, schools, city gates and markets. Seems to work for the locals.

Some people who've lived in Chiang Mai all their lives don't find any need for street names, other than some really major ones.
