I can tell you without anyone posting that the average will be somewhere in the low 30's per month- the industry standard at public schools is roughly 30K, and there'll be a few lucky souls who've got that bumped up to 40K or even 50K to raise the average a bit (plus a few unlucky ones with less, but I'm optimistically hoping there are more who have more right now).

That's way too low, incidentally- if Thailand weren't such a popular place to be for cheap backpackers, it would be at *least* a 40-45K average.

My last English teaching gig in Thailand gave me a take-home pay of 160,000-200,000 baht per month for almost 5 years...

And, I taught my classes naked a good part of the time. And no, that wasn't the reason for the generous salary...

Six years ago I was making between 50,000-60,000 per month doing 90% privates

and a few token school hours. Most of my students were Taiwanese or Japanese.

I had to work a lot of hours though. The next time a teach in Thailand I will never work that much; too much of a grind.

My Mon - Fri job, 26,000 Baht per month

My Saturday morning job, 50,000 Baht per month and rising!
