Porn Top Problem On The Internet

Its funny how some people can get so worked up about porn. I guess these are the people who probably have s*x with the light off :D

It's the same people who call their capital city Bang-(c)(k)o(c)k and their international airport S(o)-(yo)u-wanna-boom... :D:D

Not to mention that Porn is a very common first- and nickname in Thailand. ----> At the international airport of any western country: "What's your name and reason to visit ... (pick country)?" - "I'm Porn, I want to work in your country..." :o

Hmm, I hardly ever come across any form of porn unintentionally.

Our market in mooban doesn't carry any porn, videoshop owner I know doesn't carry any porn. I visit Pantip maybe once a year, none of the IT malls I usually go to have any porn on display, much less Pantip like tawts.

Google filters out porn when I'm on the net, the police drove karaoke girls from the sidewalks back inside long time ago, there's one with girls on display, on Phattanakarn, that I occasionally pass with the kids, and they really stare at them as they've never seen this sight before.

The perception that Thailand is filled with prostitution top to bottom and porn is everywehre is just plain wrong, it might appear that way if only you stick to Nana/Pantip/Pattaya.

I find there comes a point with porn when I get very bored with it, and almost find myself hating myself for having enjoyed it.

So I stand up, rearrange my clothing and go off and do something else and try to forget all about it till the next time.

People have the urge to procreate periodically.

Males are motivated by female plumage and display.

It has always been so, and is intrinsic to our make up.

So porn just reflects or deflects that drive when there isn't a willing partner available.

Since women are motivated by security and nurturing issues more than men,

They are drawn to providers of one form or another, hense less by the image,

and more the substance, strength or ability to hunt and gather of the male.

But once their motor IS running most women don't seem to mind a little porn occasionally.

And occasionally to get a partner moving when they are not motivated.

More a tool than a motivator.

It's all very nice, but remember, people lived for tens of thousands of years without porn, it's not exactly "natural".

And then they learned to draw.

It didn't start with photography old son.

Everybody lived in one room and so if it got seen it got seen.

It only became a real issue when the 'things of pleasure',

were deemed ungodly and thus to be hidden or denied.

That's just ignorant.

Ever since man was able to sculpture or draw their likeness onto anything there has been erotica.

I read a report once that said that without porn PCs would not have half the facilities and power that they do today. Porn was the biggest driving force to technological advancement.

I doubt that. Games must be the driving force to the power of PC. Otherwise development may as well stop now...

Though, I have heard that porn was a large factor to the fast adoption of Internet.

Can someone explain what the big worry about porn over the internet is, when there seem to be little worry over Pat Pong, Nana, Cowboy, countless massage parlors, street prostitution, etc...

Erotica or porn?

And besides that, it's silly to argue that an average male even a hundred years ago had easy access to hours and hours of footage of people fuc_king each other just for his viewing pleasure.

He probably had ONE erotic image, a picture or a statue, to fantasize about all his life. Compare that and porn.

Someone can not eradicate or stop something which does exist since the dawn of mankind.

Go back in history. It was not called porn maybe prostitution. These are "modern" names.

In ancient times, without the Internet, the drawings/paintings did the job. :o

Archaeologists can confirm that...

Porn is erotica that someone is scared of.

Erotica

Literary or artistic works having an erotic theme; especially, books treating of sexual love in a sensuous or voluptuous manner.

The word erotica typically applies to works in which the sexual element is regarded as part of the larger aesthetic aspect.

It is usually distinguished from pornography, which can also have literary merit

but which is usually understood to have sexual arousal as its main purpose.

Encyclopedia Britannica, 2008. Encyclopedia Britannica Online.

Pornography

Books, photographs, magazines, art, or music designed to excite sexual impulses

and considered by public authorities or public opinion as in violation of accepted standards of sexual morality.

American courts have not yet settled on a satisfactory definition of what constitutes pornographic material. (See obscenity.)

Historically

Pornography

1857, "description of prostitutes," from Fr. pornographie, from Gk. pornographos "(one) writing of prostitutes," from porne "prostitute,"

originally "bought, purchased" (with an original notion, probably of "female slave sold for prostitution;" related to pernanai "to sell,"

from PIE root per- "to traffic in, to sell," cf. L. pretium "price") + graphein "to write."

Originally used of classical art and writing; application to modern examples began 1880s.

Main modern meaning "salacious writing or pictures" represents a slight shift from the etymology,

though classical depictions of prostitution usually had this quality.

Pornographer is earliest form of the word, attested from 1850. Pornocracy (1860) is

"the dominating influence of harlots," used specifically of the government of Rome

during the first half of the 10th century by Theodora and her daughters.

Online Etymology Dictionary, © 2001 Douglas Harper

Essentially this whole concept is Victorian era based.

How all this got transplanted onto formerly free and open Siamese societal mores

is worthy of sveral volumes typed close spaced.

Can someone explain to me the point of the 'c*m shot' and why heterosexual men are supposed to find this sight arousing. I don't.

That's an interesting question but I won't touch it with a 10 inch pole.

It is supposed to be proof of a successful coupling.

Why this has become and entrenched standard is directly coupled to sales figures

of them what's got and them what's not, being quite different.

Them's what shot, sell many more.

Why THAT is the case is no doubt a book in itself.

You seem to always purposefully muddle the argument with non-factual semantics or 'emotional arguments' that has no real value.

One mans erotica is another mans porn...

And it really doesn't matter if the amount is 1 picture or a 100 pictures. That is really a non-argument.

And I would appreciate if people cared more how they behave then how they think others should behave. The world would be such a better place then.

Just curious. Do you carry your 10 inch pole around everyday in your pocket? Bad boy.

The biggest problem on the Internet is SPAM.

post-6591-1238786357.jpg Bad SPAM! You get off that Internet right now !!! :o:D

All kidding aside, Internet spam is being effectively controlled through newer technologies and user education. There's still a lot of it out there, but a huge chunk of it gets filtered and never seen.

IMHO the biggest problem with the internet are the multitude of bureaucrats who so badly want to filter, regulate, tax and "insert any other government intrusion here" it as a means to enforce power and control. Unfortunately, this includes some from our favorite host country.

There are brothels everywhere in Bangkok. Hairdressing shops, massage parlours and other venues.

And there are several "karaoke bars" near my moobaan that have girls on display.

Sure it's not as bad as it was even 10 years ago but let's not kid ourselves that it has miraculously disappeared. :o

True. One only has to look at the lifestyles during the Roman empire.

And on a serious note:

This new Thai Hotline could be a good thing, but can also be used for the censoring of what the Government considers is detrimental to Thailand and the prosecution/imprisonment/deportation of those who they may consider as subversive.

So in the future, we had better be careful as to what we quote in our emails, ThaiVisa or publish anywhere on the Internet, as this could be reported and used in evidence against us.

It appears that the freedom of the super highway (Internet) is falling more under Government controls and soon what we are permitted to do on-line and websites we can view will be censored according to the policies of the Government from whatever country one is in.

Methinks that you read my post in haste and didn't take the entire message onboard. Notice that I used the word 'was'. Past tense.

There is no argument that games and films (many of them pornographic) are now the major factors.

Pornography is akin to a spectator sport. Does anybody seriously suggest that we should abandon professional football clubs along with all the BS that they engender, and get out in the park and play ourselves? Eliminate porn? What next? Revert to Victorian times and cover up the legs of the piano?

Sorry but 'Porn' really doesnt need a fast computer or even a high spec Graphics card, While porn was indeed something that pushed internet adoption (many pay sites have been around since Netscape 1.0) It really had no effect on the power of the PC, although I will grant that it may have made a modest contribution towards the advancement of bigger hard drives.

Looking back on the history of the PC since its humble beginnings in the very early 80's to its domination of the consumer computer market by the late 80's you will see that every major advance in Sound,Graphic,CPU Power/speed and memory size are in general related to advancements in Game architecture and size. The Gaming industry has always pushed the boundaries of PC architecture whereas watching a Porn movie or stills has really only pushed the development of liquid resistant keyboards.

Oh really, we have led a sheltered life havnt we.... well over 100 years ago the victorian age was also known as the 'golden age' of Porn, long before films and pay per view and Hustler magazine the world had a thriving Porn industry. Drop back even further, lets say before the Spanish Inquisition (no no not the comfy chair) of lets go for broke and head back to the golden age of Athens and Sparta....Yep you guessed it, Nod Nod wink wink......Porn.

Just because they didnt have dvd's and the internet doesnt mean that man had to miss out on the largest industry in the world.

Yes I know what you mean Plus, I walk down Sukhumvit and never see the signs on every DVD stand saying "new Porn" or "sexy movie". I go to Panthip, Fortune and many other IT malls and have "NEVER" been accosted by people with dvd covers of porn asking me to buy, I go to my local mooban shops and they never ask if I want "Special" movies. I walk down Sukhumvit or Silom late at night and none of the fetching young ladies who are "obviously" just waiting for a friend ask me "go with you". In fact I can say that after 28 years of spending as much time here as my job allows (generally 6 months a year) that the perception of thailand as a place full of prostitution and pornography is totally................................right !!!!!

Pointing fingers at others and force so called 'moral values' is usually practised especially by those who most obstinate refuse to critisize themselves, and systematically refuse to start develop their own minds and responsibilities.

'The others are wrong' is what they got printed in their mind to keep themselves free...
