UK State Pension Payments to a Thai Spouse
Sorry to hear that. At least, you have some time to try to get the best outcome. I don't fear dying but would at least like to have time to finalise plans to help my loved ones have the best possible outcome on my demise. If a trip back to uk is possible, it would be worth the cost and effort. Chok dee! -

Residence Cerificate at Chiang Mai Immigration
When I got a new passport earlier this year, VFS told me they could accept a copy of the yellow book with a translation, which the translation company can self certify (MFA certification not needed) I went down a different route in the end, using a letter from a UK accountant to my home address in Thailand as evidence of my address, which was accepted. If you do have a translation done, make sure that they copy exactly your name from your passport. -

LONDON - Then and Now
I lived there in the early 90's, I have visited every year since, usually more than once a year as I have family there. It hasn't changed that much really. The OP has video footage of an EID celebration in Trafalgar square which is open to all and takes place for six hours every year. They picked some footage of white people from the old days and dubbed over an Arabic call to prayer. It is pathetic. I could make a similar video of a Jewish Hannukah celebration and dub over the sound of Jewish prayers. But it would be similarly misleading. London has always been diverse and is one of the greatest cities in the world because of it. It is not Muslim, it is not overrun by Muslims, it is multicultural, always has been, and is a great city because of it.- 1
