Emu and Ginger are both wonderful and we would love to keep them forever but our

travel schedule does not permit us to keep a dog permanently. We've fostered dogs from Care For Dogs several times. We're about to leave CM for a couple of months and the two dogs we have now need new homes.

Emu is a medium sized brown dog. He looks big and mean but he's really a sweetheart. His looks will make him a halfway decent guard dog but when strangers have been to our house all he does is wag his tail and bring them a present -- usually my shoe. He's very well behaved and rarely barks. He takes commands well and is easy to train. He loves everyone and is great with kids so he would have no problem adapting to any new home as long as you have a small garden. Most of the time he's happy in the house, but he has learned to open our door and let himself out. I'm trying to teach him to close the door behind him to keep the mosquitoes out. Full disclosure: When we got Emu he was very aggressive towards other male dogs. He's somewhat better now but he would be best off in a home with no other male dogs. He gets along fine with female dogs.

Ginger is a small tan dog. She's very shy and spends much of the day under our couch. It takes her a while to get used to new people but once she gets to know you she's very affectionate. She's easily spooked by loud noises and sudden movements. As such, she wouldn't be happy in a home with children. There's just too much commotion. But if you're looking for a quiet lap dog, Ginger would be perfect. She is also very well behaved and in the 2 months we've had her we've only heard her bark once. And while she's shy with people, she gets along well with other dogs.

They've both been spayed and neutered.

The hardest part about fostering dogs is giving them up. The best part is knowing they've found a loving, permanent home.

If you're interested in meeting Ginger or Emu, we live in the Nimmanhaemin area. Please PM me in the next day or two before we have to bring them back to the shelter.
