We're off to the  US soon and I would like to confirm that having a 10 year tourist visa does not require any sort of online checkin as what is now required for the visa on arrival people.

We're off to the  US soon and I would like to confirm that having a 10 year tourist visa does not require any sort of online checkin as what is now required for the visa on arrival people.

My understanding is that the ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) is only required by citizens of countries currently eligible under the visa waiver program. That would mean that if you hold a valid visa for USA then you do not need to complete the ESTA.

It would be safer to check with the Department for Homeland Security to confirm this.

After looking at a few gov websites I understand it the same way you do.  This check-in program is only for those that qualify for ESTA.
