Hello,

I'm considering setting up a company in Thailand. I already know the basics, like the requirement to hire 4 Thai people if I want everything legally, that I will have to employ myself, pay taxes for that etc.

However, I'm getting lost over how much on costs A. for setup of the company and B. to run it this would involve at a minimum. In my business I only work on my own, I never had or needed any staff really, so guess I would have to "fake-hire" someone and pay social insurance for them even though they don't have to work at all for me. I will probably share office space with a friend, so even the usual "phone girl" or "cleaning woman" will not be required. Basically I would just generate money I then pump into Thailand anyway and pay most of the taxes/social insurance for nothing. :-( But how much?

Can anyone of you give me some average numbers I can expect having to pay for A. setup and B. running the 1-man-plus-4-paper-staff-company per month? I am European, so I think the monthly payment for myself would have to be higher.

Thanks, P.

p.s. most probably no lawyer would be required, but a Thai friend would do all the paperwork for me for low costs. Also, I wouldn't generate more income than the minimum income for Europeans (to help me figure out the tax I'd h ave t o pay).
