Do you have a Thai driving licence? For a car?

You have to have a Thai drivers' license to be able to get an International Drivers Permit that would then be valid in the UK.

There is no such thing as an International License that is good by itself. The ones you see advertised are all bogus.

Ive only got a thai motorbike license =S

so theres no possible way of getting one?

What if i apply for a temporary thai car license now and then in june get the international one?

Driving in the UK is not quite the same. Ok we drive on the Left ALL of the time

Zero Experiance on UK roads My Advice Take the Train.

Don't worry they are much faster than Thai Trains. You will get anywere in the UK Same Day No Kidding

Probably better to concentrate on learning to drive properly in the UK rather than how to get around the system. You won't get an IDP without a FULL licence and it is only meant to be used when visiting a country for a short period, not when you intend to settle there to get round the system.

To get the Thai International Drivers Permit (for car) you need the 5-year car license so if you don't have a car license at all you're out of luck.

Looks like you'll have to get the car license in the UK.

You cannot get an IDP unless you have a full licence for the class of vehicle concerned.

For the UK you don't need an IDP anyway as a Thai licence would be valid for 1 year. If a visitor this year starts from your last date of entry, if a resident from your first. If resident then you must pass the appropriate UK test for the class of vehicle within that year or drive only as a learner, with a UK provisional licence, until you have passed.

Driving with a phony licence in the UK would be a very stupid thing to do; the penalties if caught are severe and include imprisonment.
