Education Visa - Which School Is Best / Cheapest

Featured Replies

I've been on a working visa for the last three years and have now handed in my resignation and will be quitting my job on May 1st.

I have never done any VISA runs before and I'm kind of clueless. I've heard that you can get a 15 month Ed. VISA (3 month temporary

+ 12 month) for around 28,000 baht + 1,900 every 90 days. I've also heard that you can go spend two nights at the casino in Cambodia

and get a 6 months tourist visa for 9,500. I would like to improve my Thai but at the same time I refuse to sit in a classroom four hours

a week studying basic Thai since my Thai is at an intermediate level. What are my options? Are there any schools that offer different levels

of Thai or are all the schools teaching the same basic stuff?

Any information is very appreciated. I don't live in Pattaya now and am still working so I don't have time driving around investigating in person.

Sincerely,

Jay

I assume you are referring to the Walen School in the banner at the top.

This 28,400 Baht for 4 hour a week thing is maybe looked at as an easy visa option, so maybe not taken too seriously.

Why don't you contact them as I'm sure that they will do intermediate classes as well.

Maybe you can ask them if you can sit in on one class to see if it's suitable for you.

Check out Pro Language School on Pattaya Klang.. I'm a student there (not for the visa though) and It's great!.. I have tried out several of the schools in Pattaya. You can't go wrong with Pro Language! All my classmates successfully got their year visa's no problem.

About: Learning Thai in Pattaya + ED Visa

I found many questions on the subject (by example on this thread or that one)

but not so many answers/recommendations

  • Could people who followed Thai courses please give use their opinion about the school ?
  • Which schools in Pattaya can be used for ED Visa ? Pro Language School, Wal*n, ...?

Due to recent changes in Hull consulate, I may take this occasion to improve my (bad) Thai,

but I am more interesting in being able to talk with Thai people than to be able to read Thai literature...

Thanks

PS: Found a list of ED Visa Schools of Pattaya, with address and details,
