Strange Problem

Featured Replies

I have True internet ADSL feeding a Billion ADSL modem then into a Belkin N1 wireless router.

Occasionally I get a problem where my Main computer cannot access the internet. the symptoms are typical of a failed DNS, ie I connect to true, but every page I attempt to access shows (eg) looking for www.google.com then times out, If I type in the URL directly (ie 132.**.**.***) it connects OK. The strange thing is that my laptop, my daughters desktop and my wifes laptop which all connect via the Belkin on WiFi dont have any problem at this time. I can fix it by rebooting the computer and resetting the Modem and Router, anyone got any thoughts on why this happens.

Freddie

Try turning the modem off for 5mins, I some times have the same problem on the PC + as I use the modem also for the TV, some times I get a perfect signal but no picture..

Somewhere there a website explaining about 'static' build up, and is rectifiable by turning the power to the modem off.... been working for me for the odd times this happens over the past few years
