Screen Sticking

Featured Replies

My screen keeps sticking. What can I do?

At the moment, every 10 minutes or so I have to press ctrl-alt-delete then press "switch to", which is a pain in the ****!

I assume you are using XP or Vista.

right click on your desktop - > properties ->display settings -->--advanced--> troubleshoot

set hardware acceleration to ZERO and check if that change something. If it works for you, you can adjust it to a higher level again.

It might be a direct x or graphic card issue. Not sure.

What you describe can be caused by lot of other "evil" spirits...

A general request: please alway mention which OS, which version. It helps.

Windows XP - I've tried that and something has definitely has changed - thanks a lot!

Why would I want to change the acceleration again?

I just got a thing from XP( checking whether genuine or not)- had to type in a few letter that I saw - would this have anything to do with it?

you disable certain functions (not always needed to run Windows). If you move that little handle you can actually view what settings are en- or disabled. Try to find what works best for you.

I am not the expert on that. Maybe other users can give you a more detailed info.

Try to restore your computer to an earlier date- a time when your computer was working well.
