When on a Multiple Non B visa, do you have to report to the Labor department after every trip out of the country to have your WP details updated?

Previously I have been on extended visa, so I haven't had to deal with this stuff in a long time...I've forgotten how it all works. :o

I searched, but couldn't find anything (I should say, I found about a thousand nonB or WP threads, but none relevant). I'm sure this has been answered before if anyone has a link.

Thanks for the help!

Have a look in your WP!

What is the validity date on the stamp?

These days they issue WPs valid for one year (not sure if this also applies to holders of multiple Non-Imm-B visas).

If the stamp in the WP matches the permit to stay stamp in the PP make sure you submit the WP renewal application before you leave the country!

Very important: You have to leave from the country not on a re-entry permit and you must be back before the WP expires! Some branches of the labor department insist in a 7 day period for the application to renew the WP.

Just back from the Ministry of Labor. Apparantely there is a new rule. The work permit and visa expiration dates are not tied together. Meaning if your work permit is for two years (1 year, etc.) you do not need to come back to see them before or after any trip out of the country for any updating / stamps, visa renewal, etc. They just reminded me to make sure I come at least 7 days prior to the expiration of the WP at which time they will check the visa to ensure it is valid. Of course, re-entry permits are necessary to ensure your visa isn't cancelled, but that is an Immigration issue.

Finally, a streamilined process that makes total sense!!! Things are definitely getting better! :o

I'm glad I went and checked though and I would recommend the same to anyone else, just in case.

Thanks for all the help and suggestions!
