I was told by somebody (who probably has some good info) that PTT shares could be a good investment.

Any thoughts on this as I am clueless.

Also, how would one buy shares in Thailand ?

Thanks

Before to invest in any public thai companies... you should read this.

:o

All those companies are... like whores... nothing less... for the politicians, the army etc.

Big fat earning whores.

Thai Airways is facing a huge crisis... So it's now it has become visible.

Check the latest scandal :

PTT is making fat profits (a lot last year !)... so of course... people don't see it. But peruse the news, last year the government (Samak) was not afraid to order PTT to subsidize diesel, gasoline, LPG, NGV...

So of course, by doing so, the State reduce its own dividends.... but the politicians don't care : politics in energy is more important.

1. Suggest you try the Thaivisa search facility top-right this page to locate the many prior threads on the topic of buying Thai shares, the best stock-broker, etc etc. Be sure to click "search thread titles only" to cut down on the irrelevant stuff

2. The potential of individual Thai shares is a bit of a moot point at the moment, unless you are taking a very long term view. Consider more at the potential of the SET overall (and the global situation). Also quite a few prior discussion threads on this topic.

For analysts comments on individual shares you can always look here: www.settrade.com
