myself (uk citizen) and wife (thai) are fed up with thailand, we have decided to take a year out and go travelling around europe. we have been married for over 2 years, have 2 homes,2 cars money in the bank etc.. My wife is employed by the ministry of labor here in bkk and we have never had any difficultys in obtaining visa' to the uk, austrailia etc for our previous holidays..

any advice with regard to schengen visa' would be greatly appreciated

would the visa cover her for all schengen countries?

would we have to apply to the individual embassy of all countries we intent to travel to?

the quickest and simplest way to apply based on peoples personal experiences would be greatly much appreciated

many thanks to all in advance

ps also any other things you could think of that i should be aware of

May I suggest that you do a search in this forum under the words "Schengen visa" .

Many of the questions are answered as many similar questions have been answered before.

It is too long and complicated a subject.

Of course if life was fair your wife should not need a visa under the freedom of movement for EU citizens and their spouse and children legislation.

If wife needs visa, remember that the 3 months entry is the whole Schengen not three months in each country. Normally you apply to first point of entry country for schengen visa.

My only suggestion is get the multi entry UK visa first then apply for Schengen. Makes bureaucrats feel more secure.

Lots of useful information on various Thai web sites -- they also help get visas..
