Getting A Bank Account Or Cashcard At Least....

Featured Replies

can I have an account or anything ? how ? where ? any recommendations ? I will have my work permit in maybe 4 weeks, and apply for an account as well, but then the account will be used for business purpose only.....so I would like to have another one on a cash-advance-basis or something like that, so I dont have to carry large amounts of money with me to buy things......

He's some links to info on getting a bank account. Now could you do the rest of us a favour and consolidate your questions into one or two threads, rather than flooding the board with new topics?

Another idea would be to use the search function, or manually read back a few pages for common questions such as this one.

If you have a Thai address, your landlord should be able to provide you with a form verifying your address, which the bank will require.

If you just want to open a savings account, that form and your passport is all you'll need (at Bangkok Bank any ways).

If you want a chequing acct, a credit card and/or internet access, you'll need a copy of your work permit and a 1 year visa stamp in your passport, as well as the residency form.

It took me only a few minutes to open my savings account, which comes with an ATM card of course. I've withdrawn from my Thai account at ATM's from Dubai to Canada with no problems.
