OK, so on Crime Watch UK next week there doing a piece on a British Pedophile who has been arrested in Pataya (surprise, surprise) for despicable crimes of a sexual nature with a 14 year old boy. Now we all know it's not the first time and unfortunately wont be the last. For such a beautiful place that Thailand is and the majority of the people, it's such a shame that the place gets tarnished in the media every time with the same brush. When people ask me about Thailand i can always sense that there is a thought of the negative in their heads. You know when you know! If only they had a first hand experience of the place, cause lets face it, the majority haven't. And that brings me onto my next door neighbor as a perfect example. An older guy who use to be in the police (likable fella), who came out with;

Neighbor: "ye, we (him and the missus) went to South East Asia, Malaysia and all that. It's a funny place that Bangkok though isn't it?"

Me: "oh, have you been to Thailand?" (genuinely surprised)

Neighbor: "no we didn't go there"

Me: Thinking what the <deleted>%k are you on about "oh well you'll have to go there, theres some beautiful places and Bangkok's a fascinating city"

ANYWAY...........

Very soon i will be making one of the biggest moves of my life to the land of smiles for quite possibly a lengthy duration, as i have a baby boy to a Thai lady so it is fair to say i am taking care of my business (and hoping for the best. I've got a game plan so forget about probing). When i read or hear these stories, especially concerning pedophiles, it's like a blow, to know that the place I'm going to be a part of is viewed in such a light and attracts that kind of scum. It's <deleted>%king hard enough to read or hear it by myself but when am sitting there with my family, surely to god they must wonder what I'm doing and whether I'm making the right choice ect....... what can i do????

And that's when i start thinking if i ever saw a fella with a young boy or girl, something that definitely didn't look right, then maybe i wouldn't be able to restrain my reactions. These people have got to know they are wrong and they need to feel it knowwhatimean!!

However, it's not as straight forward as that, cause what if the boy or girl was his daughter or a child he has adopted cause i know one family who has done just that.

I actually imagined having a daughter and some tourists looking at me as if i was a pedo. Could you imagine that!! That's how <deleted>%ked up these scum bags have made this place for the decent people who have ties here. Maybe Thailand isn't for me! Am i right to feel like this?

Is all I'm asking is if you were to come across a pedo and your sure, what would you do? cause i know what i would do. What are the implications of such actions?

He should also realise that there are likely thousands of guys in Thailand who have Thai/Caucasian children and not jump to conclusions.

Well if you read the post you'll notice that i do realise, including me. And one things for sure, i will be going to Thailand, no excusses. You can mark my words.
