Well-stocked Pharmacy For Unusual Medicines

Featured Replies

I'm looking for a medicine which I know is available in Thailand but it's not in any of the pharmacies (Boots, Fascino etc) and none of them are prepared to order it for me. I've found that even the big pharmacies that people recommend tend to be very understocked when it comes to "unusual" medicines. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good pharmacy which stocks "unusual" medicines. Perhaps the Bumrungrad pharmacy would have it but no doubt at rip-off prices. How about the pharmacies at government hospitals? Can you just walk in and buy your medicine? Any recommendations?

You're going to have to be more specific about 'unusual'...

However, a friend of mine swears by a place on On Nut (Sukhumvit Soi 77). Don't know the name but it's about 100m from Suk (halfway to Carrefour) on the south side of Soi77, amongst the covered market stalls, has two doors either end of the frontage, completely chaotic looking place and always full of Thais. English not a priority

Alternatively I used to use Charon (sp?) pharmacy - the open fronted place, never seen it closed - a block west of the fuel station on the corner of Sukhumvit Soi 4 (Nana Sua). Better English.

I tried that soi 77 place. It seemed fairly bog standard to me but they did have the latest MIMS Thailand book so I was able to establish that the medicine is no longer available in Thailand.
