Duangta
Anybody has heard of this story yet and can contribute more facts?? Apparently there was a news Report on Channel 3 on the 4th of May. I found this article in the German newspaper "TIP", but couldn't find anything anywhere else. Source: TIP My humble translation: Pattaya: Massgrace discovered near Satthahip Channel 3 reported already on the 4th of May about a mass grave that was discovered in front of the coastline near Satthahip. Hardly anything can be found in the Media elsewhere. The bodies are supposedly in 8 Shipping Containers, which have been sunk in front of Satthahip, between the islands Phie, Pram and Juang. Fishermen brought this to public attention, because skeletons were found entangled in their fishing nets from time to time. They found a corroded steel container on the bottom of the sea, surrounded by hundreds of skeletons. In total 8 Containers are said to be found. Since many years dead bodies, resp. skeletons were found in the nets of the fishermen, but they were afraid to publicly speak about these incidents. In the TV coverage from channel 3 they reported their find in front of the camera, but their faces were darkened. There are wild speculations regarding the identity of the deceased: Drug Dealers, which have been killed during the government of Thaksin, people killed by the Mafia, or the speculation that these deaths were the demonstrators that went missing during the 1992 uprising. The police allegedly wants to bring the containers up and examine the contents, but observers fear a cover up or misleading information, because the list of unsolved crimes in Thailand is long. First evidence for public suppresion is that all of the big Thai newspapers remain silent and did not mention the discovery by a single word.... p1, la
Duangta
I found this at "Pattaya One News" Containers full of bodies reported to have been discovered off the coast of Sattahip. Wednesday 6th May 2009 Containers full of bodies reported to have been discovered off the coast of Sattahip. A disturbing story now from Sattahip District involving the discovery of containers thought to contain dead bodies. The story first broke last week on Thai TV Channel 3 following the discovery of a container surrounded by reportedly hundreds of skeletons. This discovery was made almost two months ago but remained a closely guarded secret until the story was leaked to the press last week.. We understand that a total of 8 containers have been found in three separate locations between Phie Island and Pram Island and 30 nautical miles off the Coast of Juang Island which are all located in the Gulf of Thailand. For many years fishermen have reported the capture of skeletal remains in their fishing nets, however many cases have remained unreported. There is a suggestion some of the containers have been at the locations for up to 20 years. Now that the exact locations of the containers have been identified and a full report has been made to the Police, it is thought these containers will now be recovered and the contents will be revealed. Locals fear the worse and suggest the containers are full of bodies, but this cannot be confirmed until the containers are recovered. We will follow this story and update you when new information is received by us.
