Apologies if I've posted this in the wrong forum but I'm doing some research and I remember reading that Issan mechanics earned good money in the Vietnam War repairing planes on the US airbases in Issan. Does anyone remember how much they were earning per week?

I dont know about the mechanics, but I do know a large number of Thais that were MP's were effectively given their citizenship and ability to work in the USA after the war, a number of these were employed as if they were in the US Army and paid accordingly, obviously a pay rate higher than they could dream to get in another role, so that it may have been the same for the mechanics
