Just can't seem to find a clear answer on here so....

Holding a one year non immigrant B visa and no work permit, do I need to exit the country to extend 3 months, or can I just go to Suan Plu and get the 3 months extension?

I have been exiting the country, but a friend told me he thought I could just get the 90 day extension at Suan Plu. Is this correct?

You must leave the country - only if you had qualifying employment could you extend at Suan Phlu; and that would be one year at a time.

Have to exit and re enter every 90 days. As said you have to have employment to extend at Immigration.
