DavidOxon
Tried the Lemon Tree last night. Went to the CMU branch but it looked like a cafe so we went to the other one by KSK. Relatively expensive for Thai . . . 400 bht for 2 including 1 large Singha but totally lacking in ambience. Probably won'r go back . . . yumidesign
The Pasta CafeSoi 5, Nimmanahaeminda Road Has outdoor and indoor seating. Set in beutiful location. The food (mostly Italian) is the best and most consistant in Chiang Mai. Try the superb salads or the nightly specials. Try a steak (beef from San Kampang) This is the best steak you will find in northern Thailand. We have been customers for 5 years and have never had a disappointing meal. They also serve Thai food. if this restaurant was anywhere italy it would ne empty and broke, the food is disgusting

Sansai Sam
I totally agree...the food is disgusting! Best and most consistant Italian food in Chiang Mai.....not by a long shot. Worst steak I have ever had in all my years on Chiang Mai.

bridge
My favorite restaurant in Chiang Mai, if not Thailand for that matter, Tsunami Japanese on Huay Kaew. I highly recommend the tempura prawns and the sushi and sashimi set. Excellent food and fantastic value
Loaded
Queen Victoria Inn Chiang Mai Best food, friendly owner and stuff. We always get 10% discount. I drove past Thursday and it looked like a bomb had hit the place. Are they renovating or has the owner become a leader of the PAD?
jcsmith
My favorite is the Green Mill, but it's closed currently for renovation. It's off the same highway that goes past the Carefour that the Brewery is at. Past the Mae Jo turn and Tesco there's another hospital (on the same side as Carefour), if you turn down that street for a couple blocks you can find the Green Mill. It's run by a nutritionist, reasonable prices, air conditioning and good food, both Thai and Western. I don't think it will re-open until next month though. Friendlyisle
Galae Resturant (top of Suthep Road) is a nice change of pace. Up in the hills a little, it's beautiful at sunset. A nice casual atmosphere on the edge of a reservoir - you can even feed the fish as you dine. I thought it was a pretty romantic place (and fun for children also).
