Good Selection Of Rolling Tobacco In Cm?

Nah, it's on the next one up, Charoen Phrathet next tothe river. Go past Night Bazaar on Changkhlan, turn left at lights, past the snotty Chiang Mai Plaza and turn left onto Charoen Phrathet at The Chedi. Or you could of course cut through past the Red Lion or Anusarn Market. The place is about 200 yards before you hit Thapae Road and is on the left before Porn Ping. Forget the name of it but it's one of those standard-looking, single unit places with baccy and rum. The merch is in the glass case at the front. Nice folks there :)

Now, what I would like to find is the simple basic rolling machine....the kind that has 2 bar rollers and a fabric band . Simple machine that rolls tight even smokes. My hand rolling technique is not the best. Has anyone seen one in CM??

It takes about a week to learn to roll decent cigarettes. After a month, you'll be able to roll a fag without even looking at it. Some masters can roll and drive. I once met a guy who could roll with only one hand (He had lost an arm in Dien Bien Phu)

The problem with the rolling machine is that the cigarettes are too tamped (right word?) and difficult to smoke. And it takes away all the fun.

Not if you roll the rizzla in square and only spin a couple times :)

It's so much better not to use a machine. By hand, you can damp the tobacco as much (or as little) as you want. You can give a cigarette the shape you want. When one masters the art of rolling, one can make the "perfect" cigarette.

I used a machine once. I found it depressing. I like the intimate contact with both paper and tobacco. A machine takes away the fun. And the sensuality.

That liquor shop on Charoen Prathet referred to above is a great place.

Sabaijai turned me on to it about 2 yrs ago, when he generously invited me to more than a few shots of Evan Williams Kentucky that he had purchased at the same store.....

I've bought Drum and other rolling tobacco there...great prices on select brands of spirits, and yes, the people there are very pleasant. Good folks.

You generally have to remove it from the machine before smoking to get the effect, but each to their own :)

Has anyone seen American Spirit cigarettes or rolling tobacco in Chiang Mai? I really want the organic which is what I have always smoked but I will settle for anything over the chemically infused tobaccos. I don't care how much it costs or if I have to ship it from somewhere, I agree with the poster who said the one brand of Thai tobacco tastes like "pine needles" and the other stuff I have had turns you fingers and teeth brown after 2 or 3 smokes. If anyone has any details please let me know, thanks.

Back in Holland i worked some time for an tobacco importing company.

They gave me some of their tobacco leaves which i mixed with the regular

Dutch tobacco ( Drum, Van Nelle ). That added great taste to it.

I asked them how come and they replied that the industry mixes a lot of stuff

into the endproduct.

So i suggest you make your own mixture.of rolling tobacco :)

Wow 240thb and you gotta do all the work rolling. That's more per smoke than the ready rolled imports. Are cans of larger quantities available??

How about those great little rolling machines. I am all thumbs and the machines work great. Anyone seem them?
