Maps For Tomtom Ryder

Featured Replies

I am looking for SD maps of Thailand for my TomTom Ryder. I just got this as a gift and TomTom does not offer any maps online. Any help would be great.

Gerry. As far as i'm aware there are NO Thai/ south east asia maps available for the Tom Tom. Do you know if it is a Windows ce based software platform. If it is then possibly Garmin xt will work or Igo/Powermap.But I would recomend selling it on Ebay and then buying a Garmin (The Garmin/Esri Thai maps are easilily available by paying or download).

This is quite correct regarding Tom Tom. Before I left the UK in January, I even sent an email to Tom Tom support and asked. They confirmed that there are currently no plans to release maps for Thailand, though they do have Singapore, Hong Kong etc.

Garmin seem to offer the best system, maps and support over here.

Thanks for the help.

Anyone want to buy a Tom Tom Ryder? This Tom Tom is made for a motorcycle and its blue tooth and phone compatable. Nice gadget for outside LOS. Let me know. And before you ask, make me an offer first. I would consider a barter for a Garmin I can use in LOS. I will shortly be in the US for several weeks so I can ship it from there if this helps.

I don't know why anyone in Thailand would be interested in a gps that is useless.Ever considered to give it to charity. :)

Have you considered those that live outside of Thailand that read this forum?

Garmin web site for map of thailand NOTE: This product has been discontinued

Edited by borodave

Borodave. Thats the Garmin sd card map. The map we are talking about is the Esri map. Esri supplied the Garmin map. But i think they had a falling out over pricing so Garmin do not sell it direct any more. You buy it from Esri for 4,500b for the English one and 7,000 for the Thai language one. Garmin may get a new Thailand map supplier (but probably won't)

Garmin doesn't sell the thailand map any more, which they bought from esri anyway, because they have their own product now.South east asia map from Garmin contains Thailand.

At the moment I have both SEA v4.5 and Tsm v9.0 installed on my unit.I think that the esri map is the better one, which doesn't mean it is good. :)

When you buy an ESRI map, you have the choice of Thai or English there is no price difference. You get one update free and updates after that are 1,100 baht. The CD they send you has both Thai and English.

Seems odd why Tom Tom can't have a Thailand map for the RIDER version, but has a usable Thailand map for my GO750LIVE. Map file size shoudn't be an issue you would think.!?
