Dear All,

My wife, who is with me in the U.K, has a daughter (13 years old) by a previous marriage to a Thai guy. The ex-Thai husband is using my wife's daughter for financial leverage. Basically he is an alcoholic living with his new wife and kids (3 kids in all) in a one room apartment in Bangkok. There are 5 of them that share the same room!

So he is always asking for money to help support my wife's daughter, but we know for sure that he spends it on himself and booze.

So we want to try to get custody of my wife's daughter and bring her to the U.K. He is refusing to allow her to go. Is there any way my wife can get custody of her daughter? Are there any family lawyers that come recommended or any one else have a similar experience.

We were hoping to do a lot of the legal stuff whilst we are in the U.K and then come over to Thailand for a month to sort out all of the other details.

Any ideas?
