Activities For Kids In Phuket

Hello all,

My family and I will be living in Phuket for the months of July and August and I was wondering what my wife can do with the kids while we are there. My kids are 4 and almost 2. My wife is not Thai but speaks Thai well enough to get around. I will be quite busy so most of the burden of entertaining and stimulating the kids will be on her. If you know of any parks, communities, organizations, club activities, school camps, etc., then please let me know. Thank you for any help that you can offer.

Sincerely

I saw a billboard on the way back from Nai Yang beach the other week that said there was a big waterpark just opened, but I didn't catch where it was.

I found this doing a quick google search. A qoute from another forum: "There is a Water Park with slides etc on Koh Sirey just east of Phuket City - can't remember who much it was - but our kids enjoyed it a lot."

If you're on Facebook, search for "Farang Girls Phuket". It's a new networking group that now has about 100 women in Phuket. Lots of events organised for both nightlife and also for mums & kids outings.

Did a 'Google' on holiday schools, and came up with this one. Not sure if it would meet your needs, but worth contacting them: http://smiley-kidz.com/tots.html

There are some very good parks in Phuket town, and maybe you can arrange your accommodation close to one of these. Have to remember the heat though, I'm sure your wife won't be too happy pushing a 'buggy' half a mile or so in 32+ degrees of sunshine. You really need to be careful near the sea, though I'm sure your kids won't be swimming. Probably the best known park in Phuket town is Rama IX park. It has a small lake, and a lot of recreational activities which are popular especially in the early evening. Has quite a few things for small kids also, and lots of trees/shade. Transport is a different issue. If you're going to be away most days and leaving the family on their own, it might be better that you get hotel accommodation at one of the 'kid' friendly resorts on the coast, and you commute to Phuket Town, rather than let the family try and cope whilst you're away each day.
