Hi Robbin,

I personally know several good breeder but unfortunately none of them speak English.

Try to contact Khun Jetsada Sangjan (Yo), from the "Chum Sang Song Kram" Kennel in Pitsanulok. He speak a bit of English and should be able to help you. The owners/breeder of this kennel are Mr. Prathum amd Mrs Supawadee Kongcharoen and are well known breeder thourough Thailand, their father was the first breeder of Thai Bangkaew dogs, who played a crucial role in reintroducing the breed in Pitsanulok province.

I'm willing to PM you their phone numbers and e-mail adress but as this is the first time I'm tying it, I don't know how? Can any body on this forum help please? Thanks.

i just got your pm thank you so much! i have been trying for the last year and a half to get in touch with someone that could help me locate a bangkaew breeder who can speak english. i show dogs here in the usa and have had a very successful bloodline in german shepherd dogs. in fact just today we won number 1 gsd for 2008, best of breed top ten 2008, number 3 top ten all breeds 2008, best of breed friday "premier" and we still have 3 more shows to go this weekend!!!! we show in the united kennel club events. you may go to their web site at ukcdogs.com and see the standings of our dogs. we had ukc's officers comment today on our long continued success, they said i have had the winningest bloodline of dogs ever in their organization. i am the only gsd to ever win best in show at a "premier". i now wish to give it all up for the thai bangkaew dog. just one look at a bangkaew and i knew that i must research the back ground of this majestic breed. it just "blew me away"! i would like to give the bangkaew a chance here in the usa as we have nothing here like them. the beauty of the bangkaew is something that i cannot be explained in words but can only be seen with the eye! how lucky one must be to live amongst the thai bangkaew dogs!!!!!!!!!

Hi again Robin,

One dollar worth around 33 Thai Baht.

A good bloodline full pedigree Bangkaew dog (show quality), will be between 8,000.- to 15,000.- Baht, up to 25,000.- for a champion's line.

i am sorry to bother you so much! i have so many questions that i need to ask, i have picked up as much information on tbds as possible. but still need a few more questions answered. i have tried calling the kennel club of thailand but the lady who answered the phone did not understand my southern draw american english accent! i am very close to getting registration with the united kennel club for the tbds and i dont even own one yet! my friend went to japan to judge and finaly saw a tbd in person. all she could say was breath taking, stunning and more noble than any german shepherd she has seen! i have found a few tbds here in america but they are now being put to death. the woman purchased them not knowing the bad side of tbds. she did not buy from a good bloodline and now they do not want them anymore. it is a sad thing for the poor dogs she did not do her research on them first. i have spoken to her about saving the dogs lives but she said no. i do not want to make this mistake for the sake of the dogs. do you speak thai? are you from america, england or a aussie? do you show the beautiful puppy in your picture? how long have you had tbds? any problems arise? well i would like thank you again for all your time and help!!!! robin abbott

No worries robin, you're not bothering me at all, in fact I'm so happy to find somebody who likes and loves these beautiful dogs. I'm a swiss citizen who live and work here in Thailand since a bit more the 21 years now. I do speak Thai but doesn't read or wirte it. I,ve felt in love with the breed since my first encounter with it, 6 or 7 years ago. In fact, you can find Thai Bangkaew dogs all around the country as many thai houses have them as pet and/or guardian but 90% of them are not from a good bloodline as they have been crossbreeded with normal Thai dogs. The Bangkaew are extremely faithfull to their owners and familly members but are sometimes aloof and can be agressive towards strangers, making them perfect guard dogs.

Have a look at the following post from a few months ago:

I hope it will give you some good information about the breed.

Hi Robin,

You can try to email Khun Vichien. He is very devoted to the BK breed and quite active. He speaks good English and has set up the following websites:

http://www.bangkaew.com/elearning2/

http://www.bangkaew.net/dream.htm

You can contact him by emaill (just mention you got his email address through me: Nienke from LuckyDogs).

Email: bangkaew (at) bangkaew.com or

http://www.bangkaew.org/main/index.php?opt...1&Itemid=30

Khun Vichien most probably can answer your questions or otherwise can direct you further.

Wish you good luck with making the BK dog popular in The States. :)
