How Sincere Are Bgs?

No, it's not another 'I just thought this topic up' posting, but some serious (and interesting) information for those who are engaged in long-distance relationships with BGs.

By long-distance, I mean the guy who has come to LoS, met the BG of his dreams, and returned to his home-country after promising to marry the girl (or whatever) on his next trip.

They exchange romantic emails and he sends her money every month....

Now we all know that many of these situations are the classic BG scamming the guy out of his money etc, but just how many BGs are involved in such a scam?

My wife is an ex-BG, and she has many, many GFs who still work the bars, (or have worked previously). I know dozens of them (not in the biblical sense!), and they generally seem very nice girls.

Over the past few weeks, I've chatted to them about long-distance BFs, and it transpires that every single girl is currently engaged in such a relationship! Thats 100% of the 'sample' (which is about 30 girls).

The level of this relationship varies from the occasional email to each other, to daily 'I love u' emails. And in all cases, the farang guy back in the US or Europe is sending money to the girl. Amounts vary from a few thousand baht per month to 100,000 baht per month (lucky girl!).

Some of the girls are still working the bars, but most of them have given up these jobs, and are relying on their BF's money as a source of income.

How many of these girls are 'loyal' to their BF? (By loyal, I mean that they are not having a relationship or sex with another guy!).

The answer from these girls is a resounding ZERO %!

Every single girl that I spoke with told me that they were still having sex with other guys! This was either their Thai BF or husband, or other farang guys living or visiting LoS.

Most of the girls were married to Thai men, or had long-term Thai BFs, but had omitted to give this important information to their farang BF!

Some of the girls were involved in several relationships with farang men, because they claimed that their long-distant BF did not send them enough money, so they needed several such relationships to improve their income!

Some of the girls said that, whilst their long-distant BF seemed to think their relationship was 'serious', the girl herself considered it acceptable to continue to 'play the field'. (Many of these girls were VERY cynical about the sincerity of their long-distant BF).

OK, I'm sure many of these long-distant BFs were just as unsincere as these girls, but for the 'genuine' guy who comes to LoS and falls in love with a BG, the attitude of these girls to such relationships seems very depressing :o

I'm sure that I will get responses to this topic from people who have very successful relationships with ex BGs! (And good luck too! My own relationship has had its' ups and downs, but living in LoS with the girl certainly seems to boost the chances of a successful relationship!).

All in all, rather depressing news for those involved in long-distance relationships :D

Farang-BG relationships can work out ok, but they seem to be few and far-between, and the chances of success seem much higher if the guy does not live 10,000 km away :o

well, I think long - distance relations between anyone nowdays are shaky - human society "progressed" a lot since times of "Cold mountain" romantic stories or what other classics are there? :o

nowdays Valentine style rules the norms ! as I recall - in Thai slang it is called get "kick" or something like that? not sure about proper transliteration of this particular and very precise term.

George today posted some news clipping that extra-marital affairs one of main causes of family problems in Thailand. what to speak about West, and then - when "East meets West" - BG + farang b/f ?

I think ppl must get real and serious....

but surely - there are always cases of exceptions etc.

I have been fortunate that I ALMOST got into a relationship with a BG at the age of 17 but was able to get out of it.

Zero loyalty from those 30 girls...... they must all get that mgazine... "how to get rich from your Falang BF's" in news stands twice weekly :o

100,000 a month..... crazy... but try 40 million + baht in one lump sum...... this is true...... one stupid old bugger has given this to a girl in a nearby village..... didn't believe it myself so went for a drive with the misses and had a nosy..... the woman now has 3 houses for her and the family, 3 big Kubota tractors, farm buildings, large plots of land and last year she was voted in as the Mayor of the village.... bought the votes ofcourse.....

Guys like this sure make it hard for the rest of us :D but good on her getting such a good deal for the family.

If the bf(s)/hubbie(s) farang or thai are not there why would she change her life...her friends are all f******* for a living

It is not depressing...It is what happens....You choose it..that is depressing...B40m??..buy a bit more tha a few Issan houses and tractors...where did the rest go?

Even the short distance BG romances can be dodgy. I know an ex BG who has been brought out of the bar by a guy who thinks that they are now in a monogomous relationship.

But she still keeps in contact with her ex customers and long distance relathionships and just tells her new husband that she is going to visit her mum up country for a fee weeks whenever they are in town.

He is blissfully ignorant of what she is up to.

There is nothing wrong with an honest business transaction to procure sex, If that is your thing; but lets not dress it up with all this romantisism. They are what they are nothing more nothing less. I get sick of hearing all this simpering bull that gets spewed out by these dumb pussy struck fools. They don't love you, you arn't the best they have had, they do have a choice and it isn't all the westerners fault. Like I said Try seeing the reaction you get when you turn up at your mothers house with some brass from Barnsley tell her that you are in love and that you will be sending her 200 quid a month for her mothers eye operation. "Don't worry Mum she said she wont be sleeping with anymore punters if I send here this cash".....really?

So if she is shagging some other guy, then the only time she does it is when she pops out for 5 minutes to the somtam lady :D

Couple of observations:

If these guys are throwing large amounts of money at the girls, the relationship will never be equal and likely to fail. You can't have one party beholden to the other in such unequal terms.

I used to date a BG when I lived in Thailand, she was far more worried about what I was up to than I was of her. She tended to judge me by her standards ie. thinking I was shagging everything in sight. She was extremley jealous

Yeah Doc.... it's the village past the lake..... the one on the first corner.... the village gossip was that it was 60 million...... but you know how they get it wrong most of the time...... that's how much they said I had..... but this girl sure has the assets to show for it.... :o that's a good pun.... haha
